President and Partner
Shawn founded Douston Construction in 1985 with Gail, his wife and business partner. Shawn uses his personal ideals as a base for his business. Quality workmanship, timely completion, fair costing, honesty, dependability, and great customer service are all packaged in a Douston Construction product. His problem solving skills and keen eye for growth and development have made his company one of Maine’s premier construction firms. He is quoted as saying, “We are a progressive construction firm. We offer services that meet the needs of our customers by being consistently on time and within budget.” This viewpoint demonstrates his philosophy of customer satisfaction. He truly understands that the customer’s needs come first. If the customer is happy, then Douston Construction has been successful.
Shawn is from Benedicta Maine, a small rural farming community in Northern Maine. Prior to founding Douston Construction, he worked for Roberge Construction. There he started as a Carpenter Helper and left as a Lead Carpenter. He also worked for Keeley Construction, a Portland-based commercial construction company working as an apprentice mason. Shawn graduated from Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute with a degree in Masonry & Related Construction.
Shawn and Gail are the proud parents of three sons, Logan, Garth, and Blake. Shawn enjoys the outdoors, hiking, gardening, and being involved in the extra-curricular activities that come with a growing family.
